A Cameo In His Life

Dear, don’t expect any care
You were meant to demand no fare.
You were never his cynosure,
So what if he means the world to you.
He wouldn’t give you much time,
For him you are
Just another page
Of the book of his life
You miss him but he doesn’t.
Dare not lighten any ray of hope.
He has a purpose to be with you,
You have pretexts to be with him.
Try as much as you can
To make him fall for you
But make sure that you
Rise and not fall in love.

He would call you
At times hard
But you don’t let
Your heart be in shards.
Some day he would
Realise the fact
That you are the best for him.
But still don’t live with such a dream,
It’s not out of prescience
But just expectations
Which stab the heart
When not fulfilled.
You play a short role in his life
You’re nothing but sunshine
For him to expand his reign.

  1. Nicely done. Even I always try to make a girl understand to be careful. Track the difference between a lover and a benefit seeker. Try not to fall so deep. Liked the way you expressed 🙂

  2. Very good poem Sanskriti. The lines “But make sure that you/
Rise and not fall in love.” show me that you have true insight into the human condition and the ability to express it poetically. Really, very well done. Thank you for posting. 🙂
