Hers in All Ways

If it wasn’t for her
I wouldn’t have stayed awake.
But she wanted to sleep beside me
A picture I couldn’t miss to relish.

She’s asleep, beautiful and messy.
Hair in sweat, embracing her face.
Lips parted, sweet little snores
Oh I would wake eveyday to see her sleep.

Wait! She’s frowning.
Is she going through a nightmare?
Can’t I be that superhero
Who rescues her from all that’s evil?

I caress her face
She takes a sigh of relief
And tightens her clutch on to me
Making me wriggle.

I’ll tell her my heart out
I hope that she stays.
Maybe I was born to be
Hers in all ways.

  1. Sanskriti, Thank you for your interest in my blog. I definitely like your poetry. It is intriguing and well done. “Hers in all Ways” is very nice. There’s just enough there to make one want to know more. And the idea that one person’s sleep keeps the other person awake is really good. So, I look forward to your work.
    Again, thank you.
